Die Idee für diese Plugin wurde geboren, nachdem ich zwei dedicated server für das Spiel Trackmania aufgesetzt habe. Damit der Status der Server auf der Homepage angezeigt werden kann, war ich auf der Suche nach einem geeigneten Plugin, es gab aber nichts, das ich dafür einsetzen konnte. Daher habe ich mir dann selbst eines geschrieben. Eine livedemo des Plugins kann man sich hier ansehen: http://noob.becos.net

Wie arbeitet WP-srvStatus in WordPress

wp-SrvStats wird als Plugin in WordPress eingebunden und zeigt als Sidebar widget den online/offline Status einer beliebig zu definierenden Anzahl von  Servern an. Die Server können komfortabel über die Administrationsoberfläche eingestellt werden. Bei der Art der Anzeige kann zwischen drei verschiedenen Möglichkeiten gewählt werden:

• Anzeige eines Icons,
• Anzeige eines Textes
• und die Anzeige von Icon und Text zusammen.

Beispiele für die Einstellungen und Ausgabe des Widgets

Installation des Plugins

1. Zip-Datei herunterladen und entpacken
2. In das WordPress Verzeichnis auf den Webserver laden
3. In der Standardeinstellung sind zwei Server voreingestellt. Soll die Anzahl der Server erhöht oder verringert werden, so ist in der Datei wp-srvstatus.php, in Zeile 29 der Wert zu ändern.
4. Das Plugin aktivieren
5. Auf der Einstellungsseite die Serverdaten eingeben
6. Das Widget in der Sidebar positionieren
7. Fertig!

Hinweis: Bitte das nicht das PlugIn-Verzeichnis umbenennen!

This plugin will display the online/offline status of defined server in your sidebar.

This idea was born in case of setting up several dedicated trackmania servers andI wanted to show the actually stats for the blog visitors / clan members. You can find a live demo of this plug in here: http://noob.becos.net

How does it works

wp-SrvStats is integrated as a plug-in WordPress and shows in a sidebar widget  the online / offline status of an unlimited number of servers. The servers can be easily setup via the admin interface. The type of display the state of the servers can be selected from three different options:

1. single display of an icon,
2. display a online/offline text only or
3. displaying the icon and text together.

How to install

1. To do a new installation of the plugin, please follow these steps
2. Download the wp-srvstatus.zip file to your local machine.
3. Unzip the file
4. Upload `wp-srvstatus` folder to the `/wp-content/plugins/` directory
5. Change the amount of your desired servers in wp-srvstatus.php, line 29. The default value defines two servers.
6. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
7. Define the servers in the settings menu
8. Place widget in your sidebar.

That’s it.

Upgrade Notice

To upgrade your installation

1. De-activate the plugin
2. Get and upload the new files (do steps 1. – 4. from “new installation” instructions)
3. Reactivate the plugin. Your settings should have been retained from the previous version.
